The Study Group Foundation

We’re a BIPOC-founded non-profit that researches the issues impacting historically excluded groups in creative and professional fields.

We work at the intersections of racialised people, women and the LGBTQ+ community.

The Study Group Foundation is an autonomous space where we create online and offline projects that centre representation and celebrate cultural heritage.

Through these initiatives, we connect with communities around the world.

Our mission

To share knowledge and build opportunities for BIPOC makers to have a stronger presence in creative and professional spaces.

Our vision

Provide BIPOC makers with an autonomous safe space that gives them access to tools and resources that foster unapologetic creative expression.

Our work

Established in 2020 by Obi Mgbado and Marie-Anne Leuty, The Study Group introduced its first project, The Quick + The Brave, the same year.

Focusing on culture, inclusivity, sustainability and self-care, the platform and print publication set the intention for how we work and why we do what we do.
